Sub‐nanoscale Engineering of MoO <sub>2</sub> Clusters for Enhanced Sodium Storage

Smart construction of battery-type anodes with high rate and good mechanical properties is significant for advanced sodium ion capacitors (SICs). Herein, a flexible film consisting MoO2 subnanoclusters encapsulated in nitrogen-doped carbon nanofibers (MoO2 [email protected]) designed synthesized via electrospinning toward SICs as anodes. The strong N-Mo interaction guarantees the stable yet uniform dispersion loading SCs (≈40 wt.%) carbonaceous substrate. sub-nanoscale effect restrains electrode pulverization improves Na+ diffusion kinetics, rendering better pseudocapacitance-dominated Na+-storage than nanocrystal counterpart. protected] paper mass loadings 2.2–10.1 mg cm−2 can be directly used free-standing anode SICs, which exhibit reversible gravimetric/areal capacities both liquid quasi-solid-state electrolytes. assembled competitively exceptional energy density cycling stability. More significantly, engineering strategy here promisingly generalized to future design other electrochemical energy-related applications beyond.
